A Cascade of Wellness: Tropical Sangria

How would you feel about a crowd-pleasing, festive, fun and scrumptuous party concoction that is also loaded with wellness-boosting antioxidants, polyphenols, flavonoids and other beneficial compounds?

“Tropical Sangria”

This is so delicious and so uplifting that you’ll need to place your sangria punch bowl where there is space to gather!

• 1 bottle of good-quality red wine
• 2 cups freshly-squeezed orange juice
• 2 cups pineapple juice
• 1-3 shots Bacardi
• 2 shots Grand Marnier, Cointreau or Triple-Sec
• 1 orange, 1 lemon and 1 lime, all sliced thin
• 1-2 cups sliced mango, kiwi and/or papaya (optional)

Prepare sangria in a large, enclosed jar or pitcher so it can rest for a few hours, or better yet overnight, allowing flavors to harmonize. First put in your sliced fruit, then add your fresh orange and pineapple juices, and then drop in your rum and orange liqueur shots. Serve in a festive punch bowl with ice cubes, ideally made from frozen citrus juice. You can also chill by adding frozen fruit just before presenting.

Health Bonus: You’ll not only get resveratrol, saponins, and other beneficial compounds from the wine, you’ll also get a boost of antioxidants and flavonoids from the fruit and juice in this ambrosial concoction. Cheers!

This is terrific. Thanks Kiki. Do they offer a print button on blogspot? I'd like to add it to my cocktail recipes.
